One of the most memorable exercise I did when I was attending some leadership training course was this :
Imagine if today is your last day, what would you do? who will you want to meet? how would you do it?
It is tough to imagine one in this position especially if things are going pretty stable and comfortable for you. And it is quite a taboo as well to put oneself in such a situation to incite emotions or feelings that is deeply buried within each and everyone of us.
In some of my training, I asked my participants to pen it down. Surprisingly, some would choose to avoid this topic at all while a few may break down in tears in doing this exercise. I urge you to try it and you would get to know your deepest desires hidden within.
In this great book, the meeting between an old man (who is dying soon) impart his life enriching experiences to a young man and how a great bond and friendship was forged. I cried several times reading this book as it is tough to turn the page without reflecting on one's own past......................
